Despite his own challenges, Bubbles radiates a gentle warmth that soothes anxious kittens! He bravely overcame a near-death experience to become a comforting friend for other animals at the Virginia SPCA in the Free State.
Virginia, South Africa (20 January 2025) – It is not every day you get to encounter a struggling soul that offers a comforting warmth to help you overcome your own troubles.
Virginia SPCA in the Free State has a very special doggo, who has easily captured the hearts of staff and dog lovers alike, as well as a very anxious little kitten.
“Bubbles is our special needs resident doggie with very limited eyesight and hearing,” shares the SPCA.
“Bubbles was initially adopted but sadly suffered a setback after anaesthesia.”
Although his adoption process was consequently cancelled, the staff continued to spend more than a week by his side, encouraging Bubbles to wake up and fight for his life. And wake up he did – but not without sacrifice as he sadly lost most of his eyesight and hearing.
“However, he is leading a full and rich life and has since been the therapist of VSPCA who comforts scared and terrified pups and kittens to feel more comfortable.”
A sweet video shared on Facebook shows the Bubbles comforting a kitten who recently lost his way and was trembling with fear and anxiety.
According to the Virginia SPCA, this kitten has been in the company of this remarkable dog for over a month now, and the feline’s confidence is growing each day.
Bubbles is one of those precious souls who warm our hearts, in that despite his unforeseen challenges, still embraces life and finds purpose in helping others!
