Imagine sharing the stage with your musical heroes, icons who’ve captivated audiences worldwide. For South African singer-songwriter Jeremy Loops, this dream became a reality this past Sunday.

Ballito, South Africa (13 May 2025) – Getting to perform alongside music veterans who have graced countless stages nationally and globally is the dream of any younger artist passionate about the art, and South African singer-songwriter Jeremy Loops got to realise his by sharing the stage with the highly celebrated choral group, Lady Smith Black Mambazo.

In a stunning musical mash-up, Jeremy and Black Mambazo entertained a Durban crowd in a show titled Echoes Between Us at the Manor House in Ballito this past Sunday, 11 May.

Since his very first encounter with the Grammy award-winning group, Jeremy has dreamt of performing with Lady Smith Black Mambazo. Together, they have created magic in the studio, creating the songs This Town and Coming Home, which both beautifully capture the cultural richness of our country and its people, wrapped in the love for soulful music.

However, living to see their collaboration take life on stage was something truly special. Jeremy himself was deeply moved, describing the experience as feeling like the beginning of something ancient and brand new.

“To share a stage with your heroes, in their hometown, with your own songs echoing through the hill…what a life,” the Better Together singer said.

Fans described their harmonies as heavenly and praised the Durban show as two hours of goosebumps and ear bliss!  For Jeremy, this marked the start of many more magical live moments with the “isicathamiya” performers.

“Thank you, Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Thank you, Ballito, KZN, that was so special,” he said.
