Animal charities in the Northern Cape face big challenges, but they refuse to give up, so if you are looking for the underdogs, we have the list!

Northern Cape, South Africa (03 February 2025) – The Northern Cape may be vast and many towns isolated, but animal welfare organisations put in the work to reach every animal in need. Our comprehensive charity list grows and evolves every year as we add more good causes to the list. This is the 2025 list for the Northern Cape province.

These charities may be few, but they are run by the biggest hearts who refuse to give up. They take bigger steps when needed and take on greater tasks, but all are done with the most love.

We have listed the charities that need help below; if you can, give their pages a visit. Sharing their pages will go a long way in helping the animals in need.

Please note that this is a working list, so keep sending through your charities, and we will keep adding them!

These charities include all kinds of animal welfare organisations. We have simplified the search process for you by adding the following codes:

B – Birds, C – Cats, D – Dogs, F – Farm, H – Horses / Donkeys, W – Wildlife, and O – Other.

  • Animal Welfare Society Upington (Working in Upington) (C,D) – Facebook
  • Douglas vir Diere (Working in Northern Cape) (C,D,W) – Facebook
  • Hantam Pet Paws (Working in Calvinia) (D) – Facebook
  • Kalahari Heart Animal Welfare (Working in Deben) (C,D,H) – Facebook
  • Noupoort Animalcare (Working in Noupoort) (D) – Facebook
  • SPCA Kimberley (All) – Facebook

If we have missed an organisation or charity, please email tyler@goodthingsguy.com and we will add it soonest; kindly supply the relevant links as well as which province they work in, the NPO registration details and a brief description of what the organisation does.
