Shanghai, China (19 May 2025) – Linani Potwana is not your regular six-year-old. This rising star is turning heads, wearing couture and walking international runways!

After learning about how Linani secured the incredible opportunity to sparkle at Shanghai Children Fashion Week for Lucky Seven this month, Good Things Guy got in touch with her to learn a little more about this promising powerhouse.

Hailing from East London in the Eastern Cape, Linani has been modelling since she was just four years old and is currently residing in in China with her mother, where her career is taking flight.

Speaking about Linani’s recent gig, proud mom, Ziyanda, shared that her daughter secured the opportunity to walk at Shanghai Children Fashion Week through her modelling agency.

“She submitted her portfolio for an online audition for Lucky Seven and MS Fashion Concept Show. They were impressed, and she got chosen to participate in the AW2025 show.”

Little Linani graced the Shanghai Children Fashion Week, which formed part of the larger Shanghai Fashion Week, looking like an absolute princess with a touch of African royalty, beautifully serving all the black girl magic on the global stage!

“I wore a one-of-a-kind dress that made me feel like I stepped right out of a fairytale. Every step on that runway felt magical. But the best part? The beautiful new friends I met along the way. We laughed, supported each other, and shared something truly special,” Linani said.

Ziyanda expressed immense pride in seeing her “mini me’s” passion recognised globally.

“It’s an incredible feeling to see her passion being recognised on such a global stage at such a young age. We are extremely proud of her dedication and how she carries herself—it inspires us too.”

Linani currently has her sights set on making it to the finals of the Miss Mini SA 2025, where she will be representing her home province, the Eastern Cape.

With Linani turning seven this year, she hopes to secure even more opportunities that will propel her into her modelling dreams, and we’re excited to see all the places she will go!
