In a bold move, one romantic decided to she wasn’t going to leave her love life up to fate. Taking to a Sandton community group, she bravely shared a post searching for the mysterious silver fox she’d encountered recently, and Sandtoners have since responded with all the support!

Sandton, South Africa (26 May 2025) — Whoever said you can’t find love in Sandton clearly hasn’t tried hard enough. One romantic named Nikki Vee has got Sandtoners everywhere invested in her (potential) love story after she boldly shot her shot in one of the most unexpected places, a community Facebook group with twenty thousand people.

For those of us who couldn’t imagine walking up to a stranger at a bar, let alone announcing our interest on an entire community group, Nikki’s effort is considerably badass.

Taking to I Love Sandton (BHC), Nikki shared the story of her search for an unnamed silver fox.

“I can’t believe I’m doing this and here goes nothing…” the post reads, before describing the person she’s searching for as a silver fox who was spotted down the Trumps corridor

But, the real heart of this story is how encouraging Nikki’s fellow Sandtoners were.

Several people wished her luck, while others came up with suggestions for how she might find her mystery man and others even offered to join the search.

“I love this…I hope you get your happy ever after,” one Sandtoner wrote, while another commented that it “sounds like the making of a great love story.”

By far and large, the response was positive.

In a world where so many of us might fear doing big and bold things because we’re worried about what others will think, this little post and the community that embraced it is a reminder that sometimes we can and should give people more credit (and faith).

While we’re not sure how the silver fox search unfolded at the time of this article’s writing, we are as invested as everyone else to learn what happens next!
